Training and Kit

Here I will post about my kit and training sessions.

-----Training -----------

Well to be honest, I don't really train as you should. I don't have a training schedule for a set milage. I probably should. I should be working to a routine, I should a goal. I don't have any of this. I simply run how I feel and go where I enjoy.

Having said that I do certain things to keep me fit and keep me progressing, though at a very slow pace. I haven't been running for that long, so am trying not to push myself to much. I will try to soon. When I feel I can. As some say I should.

My training consists of a 5 mile loop around ipstones and foxt,  I pace this on how I feel.  I also tend to do hill reps up Hen Cloud and also do a 8 mile loop from the Roaches to the Back Forest and back.
I will also try to do a double figure run everyone two to three weeks.

I just brought a book on how to run downhill as I tend to loose a lot of places going downhill but make them up going up hill or on the flat and technical races.

I need to work on my sprinting and pacing, and also my downhill.

I think I also need to start swimming to improve my breathing.  Another thing that I do is cave fitness, this is something I recently started. This is to improve my leg and core strength but also to help injury prevention.  Consistency is the key, a saying you hear a lot.  Sadly I get injury at least twice a year.

When I get a full on training schedule I will let you know.

---------Kit ------------

As am a big fan of Raidlight's kit I tend to use their kit for races. I use their kit as I believe it is good quality and because its light weight. They also design there kit so it works together. For instance the waists packs are designed to fit the their waterproof tops and pants in. The kit also meets FRA regulations.

So here is what I use.
